General Pest is 2 days in the field to complete 9 jobs. Timber Pest is 5 days in the field to complete 15 jobs. You work through Bundilla Pest Control on real job sites with real pest infestations.

Complete 1 day of face-to-face practical assessments for each stream. Book both and you have 2 assessment days. This is not an automatic pass.
Ongoing mentorship and support is included. Graduate with a Statement of Attainment.

You must independently demonstrate each skill in person with a trainer and assessor. Advance You provides the site, equipment and resources.
Independently demonstrate general pest management from start to finish. The assessor will cover customer service, work orders, inspection techniques, integrated pest management planning and implementation, risk assessments, chemical handling, recording of pesticide application, and using baits, dusts and liquid treatments targeting spiders, ants and cockroaches.
Independently demonstrate rodent management from start to finish, including customer service, work orders, inspection, IPM planning and implementation, risk assessments, rodenticide handling, and accurate recording of rodenticide application.
Demonstrate a space-spray treatment from start to finish. This assessment is simulated because space sprays pose a risk to the environment and human health without extensive controls. We provide all resources.
Demonstrate that you understand the legislated requirements in your state or territory for setting up and maintaining a pest management vehicle. A vehicle set-up will be provided.
Demonstrate how to manage a simulated chemical spill in person with a trainer and assessor. Resources are provided.
Demonstrate how to calibrate a pump-up spray unit in person with a trainer and assessor. All resources will be provided.
As multiple skills and competencies will be assessed across your Ride & Learn Program, you may not be deemed fully competent in every area on the day. Any gaps identified will be discussed with you and opportunities for further development will be provided. You will have one resubmission attempt.
Ride & Learn is completed through Bundilla Pest Control on the Sunshine Coast. Finish all online theory before you book.
Bring your own boots and work pants. Uniforms, PPE, lunch on assessment days, travel to and from jobs, and airport collection (if requested in advance) are included.
