We understand because we ARE you. Third-generation pest control business owners who've faced every challenge you're experiencing right now.
The General Pest Course is a nationally recognised employee training program delivered by Advance You (RTO 46378). It covers the three core units of competency from the Certificate III in Urban Pest Management your technicians need to apply for a general pest management licence in most Australian states and territories.
Your employees complete online theory alongside supervised practical assessments in your workplace. On successful completion, they receive a Statement of Attainment for CPPUPM3005, CPPUPM3006 and CPPUPM3018 — the foundation for general pest licensing and further specialist training such as the Timber Pest Course.
The General Pest Course is for business owners and managers enrolling employees who work in your pest control operation. Trainees must be employed by your business and have access to real worksites, equipment, and a qualified supervisor from your team.
Most employees complete the General Pest Course in 4 to 8 weeks full-time in your business. The course uses blended delivery — online theory combined with on-the-job practical assessments — so your technicians can keep generating revenue while they train.
These terms refer to the same qualification. “General Pest Course” describes the training pathway, while “General Pest Technician Course” describes the professional outcome. Both cover the same three units of competency required for general pest management licensing.
